Rockin’ Yoga is a highly interactive music, yoga and mindfulness assembly ideal for pre-K to 2nd grade. Separate assemblies can be tailored to 3rd-5th grade. Kira and her musical friends will rock your school! This is not a sitting-down, stare-at-the-presenter type of assembly--every student (and the teachers!) will be up moving, dancing, and doing simple, fun yoga. Kira includes call and response and rhythm games, SEL-based, age-appropriate mindfulness exercises, and tons of movement and songs. This assembly can be a great kickoff to starting a yoga/mindfulness program in your school, and/or a fabulous celebratory event! Mindfulness in the Classroom Teacher Training
Learn an arsenal of practical, quick, and easy-to-use tips and techniques to calm your classroom (and yourself!), focus your students, and help them release anxiety. Kira teaches practical, use-it-now tools and methods such as kid-friendly breathing and focus exercises, chair yoga, simple songs which incorporate movement, and more. Learn how to help kids self-regulate and focus their energy on the task at hand, and explore how music, movement and mindfulness can be incredibly effective vehicles for SEL in the classroom. School counselors, administrators, teachers, and anyone interested in creating positive change in the culture of our schools will enjoy and benefit greatly from this session. We will have fun trying these techniques together (be ready to move!) and discuss practical applications and ways to incorporate mindfulness practices and movement into the school day. Handouts will be included.
Customized Professional Development for Teachers:
This is the way to really effect lasting, positive change on a school - get the teaching staff totally on board. The training can be tailored to the school's needs, but typically includes an overview of the most recent research in kids' yoga and mindfulness, and an explanation of the benefits; a demonstration of how music, movement and mindfulness are incredibly effective vehicles for SEL in the classroom, and training and practice in simple, quick methods to calm the classroom and focus the students, including chair yoga and mindfulness exercises. Kira is highly skilled at making these concepts simple, approachable and fun, with an emphasis on practical, immediate use. She understands that teachers don’t need “one more thing” to HAVE to do in the classroom, but rather focuses on very simple and highly engaging ways to help teachers do their jobs better. Kira can assist in implementing a daily mindfulness/yoga practice, such as Mindful Moments for Kids, into the school day, and help it become part of the school’s culture. Unlimited follow-up support via phone and email. Start here to set up a free consultation call with Kira.
Customized Mindfulness/Yoga Curricula for Schools

Yoga & Singing Workshops (Can include a live DJ!)
The science of singing is in: research shows that singers experience an increase in the feel-good chemicals dopamine, oxytocin, and endorphins; and a decrease in the stress hormone cortisol. Vocalizing soothes the nerves and releases tension--and singing in a group bonds people together. Put simply, singing is a mood-boosting, stress-busting activity, much like, wait for it….yoga!! Combine the two and you have a celebratory, spirit-lifting workshop that’s a workout for body and mind.
Kira weaves simple and beautiful vocalizing into yogic movement to create an incredibly engaging, joyful experience. (Think you can’t sing? Kira doesn’t believe you, and she’s an expert at leading groups in song in an atmosphere of total joy and fun, without any judgment. You’ll be harmonizing and singing in rounds before you know it!)
Absolutely no singing or yoga experience necessary. You’ll leave exhilarated and inspired!

All professional musicians in their own right, the four of them together tear up the stage! Moonshine & Millet is not a “kids” band, but is totally family-friendly!
