EVERY VOICE is full of big, fun pop songs with singalong choruses, and themes of confidence, compassion, and empowerment. It was brilliantly produced by Zak Rizvi and Dave Padrutt, and features my friend—and kids’ music superstar—Laurie Berkner on the sweet, ukulele-driven tune “Dream It Up.”
A few other tunes to highlight: a fan fave at our live shows is “The Leader in Me,” which was inspired by a leadership program that’s in place at some elementary schools where I’ve performed. This program empowers kids to be leaders in their communities, whether that means their neighborhood or their classroom, and to act that way even when no one’s checking up on them. Kid power is a BIG theme on this album as a whole.
And my favorite, "Hello Hope," is a simple piano & vocal song that addresses head-on the fact that even young kids regularly hear about scary things in the world. I’ve worked with lots of children who’ve been through very tough experiences, and one thing I know for sure is that we can’t NOT talk about it. I hope this song can be a reminder that when we reach out and take care of each other, we can all remain positive and hopeful, no matter what’s going on.
