Mindfulness in the Classroom
Start the new year off right by learning an arsenal of practical, quick, and easy-to-use tips and techniques to calm your classroom (and yourself!), focus your students, and help them release anxiety. Kira Willey, kids’ music artist and children’s yoga and mindfulness expert, will teach practical, use-it-now tips, tools and techniques such as kid-friendly breathing and focus exercises, chair yoga, simple songs which incorporate movement, and more. Learn how to help kids self-regulate and focus their energy. School counselors, administrators, teachers, and anyone interested in creating positive change in the culture of our schools will enjoy and benefit from this session. We will have fun trying these techniques together (be ready to move!) and discuss practical applications and ways to incorporate mindfulness practices into the school day. Handouts will be included.
